About

I grew up in a small town in the Midwest and have degrees in physics, astronomy, immersive media, and digital libraries.

I spent several years developing informational and interactive objects for computer-based training before transitioning to academic librarianship. I had a wide range of responsibilities as a librarian, from managing large-scale video wall exhibits, to developing science fiction and data science collections, to providing guidance to North Carolinians on patent and trademark searching. I now find new ways to augment metadata and indexing at an information resources company in order to make it easier for users to find content.

My current interests include natural language processing, machine learning, information retrieval, taxonomies, metadata, Python, and R.
